Symptoms
Error number -2147221503 occurs when attempting to run an Online Update for Prospector.

Resolution
Please follow the steps below to resolve the error.
  • Click on Start -> All Programs -> Trigold (Crystal) -> Prospector -> Maintenance.
  • Right click on the Prospector Data Location and select copy.
  • Then, click on Start and select Run (Vista & Windows 7 Users- Click on Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run). On the run Window, right-click and select paste and then click OK.
  • The Prospector folder will open and you will need to look for a file called Config (or config.ini). Double click on the Config file and the file will open up on to Notepad.
  • Look for a line called [General].
  • Under the [General] section you will need to look for the line: manifestlocation=http://updates.trigold.co.uk/tss/Download/versioninfozip.xml
  • Change the word ‘Versioninforzip’ to ‘versioninfo’ thus removing the word ‘zip’ from the line. Then click on File at the top right and Select Save.
  • The online update should now successfully run through.
