Symptoms
This error can occur when running the Prospector Online Update or completing the Prospector Registration Wizard. It means that Prospector has failed to establish a connection with the server. This problem can be caused by internet connectivity issues or security preventing Prospector from updating. Error: 12029 Message: A connection to the server cannot be established
Resolution
Please follow the steps below to resolve the error.
1. Please ensure you have an active internet connection. - Ensure that you can open a web browser and can access www.trigoldcrystal.co.uk - If the connection is wireless, ensure the signal strength is high or alternatively connect to your router by using an Ethernet cable.
2. Your antivirus software maybe preventing Prospector from updating successfully.
Click on Start >> All Programs >> Trigold(Crystal) >> Prospector >> Tools Maintenance.
Make a note of the Prospector Software Location e.g. “c:/program files/trigoldcrystal/prospector”
Configure your firewall to allow the following files as exceptions: download.exe, tssv2.exe, forms.exe, register.exe (they will be located in the Prospector Software Location noted earlier)
